We offer a range of clinics and services at the surgery. There are some tasks you can do, such as health reviews, using our online forms.

Minor illness

Child health 

Immunisation

Influenza and pneumococcal vaccinations are provided to all patients aged over 65 and those in at risk groups. Tetanus vaccinations are provided to all patients who require it according to current clinical guidelines. Hepatitis B vaccinations are provided to ‘at risk’ groups.

Family planning

We offer advice on contraception including coil fitting and insertion of contraceptive implants. For further details about contraception and sexual health see the family planning association website

High blood pressure

We offer 24 hour home blood pressure monitoring to aid the accurate diagnosis and monitoring of high blood pressure. We are able to perform ECGs within the surgery.

Antenatal and postnatal care 

Routine antenatal and postnatal care is provided by our qualified community midwives with the support of our doctors.

Cervical smears

You will be offered a well woman check at the same time so could you please bring a urine specimen with you.

Minor ops surgery

Such as the removal of minor skin lesions and joint injections.

Travel health

If you are travelling abroad please complete and submit our online travel form in plenty of time, this should ideally be at least 8 weeks before your date of travel.

Diabetes care

We provide comprehensive care for patients with diabetes mellitus including starting and monitoring insulin treatment.

Care of patients with heart disease and strokes

An annual check up which includes blood tests, a general physical review and a review of treatment.

Phlebotomy

Our healthcare assistants take blood samples and clinics are run on an appointment only basis.

Warfarin monitoring

We now provide in house finger prick blood testing with instant results for patients who take warfarin.

Helicobacter Pylori breath tests 

We can arrange testing for Helicobacter pylori (an infection which may cause stomach and duodenal ulcers) at the surgery.

Minor injuries

We are able to see and treat, or refer, patients with minor injuries.

These minor injuries include:

  • Lacerations capable of closure by simple techniques
  • Superficial injury of eye
  • Partial thickness thermal burns or scalds involving broken skin – not over 1 inch diameter/not involving the hands, feet, face, neck, genital areas
  • Foreign bodies superficially embedded in tissues, including eyes

An injury that is not amenable to simple domestic first aid, including for example:

  • Bruises
  • Bites/stings
  • Sprains/strains
  • Sunburn
  • Splinters
  • Whiplash
  • Minor head injuries where there has been no loss of consciousness
