Out of Hours Service

Between 18:30 and 08:00, Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on Bank Holidays your call will be redirected to the NHS 111 service.

A trained call handler will take details and advise the most appropriate course of action. If an appointment is necessary patients are seen at:

Swadlincote Health Centre
Civic Way
Swadlincote
DE11 0AE
Open between 18.30 – 22:30 on weekdays and 09:00 – 22:30 at weekends on bank holidays.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and/or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Why does the receptionist need to ask what’s wrong with me?

Our reception staff are important members of the practice team, and it has been agreed that they should ask patients “why they need to be seen”.

We have trained our reception staff to ask certain questions to help make sure that you receive the most appropriate medical care, from the most appropriate health professional, at the most appropriate time.
